They called our cabin a "two room" and two TV cabin. This was not false, but we initially assumed that would mean two bedrooms. This actually means one bedroom with a queen bed and the living room area also has a queen bed, which is considered the second room. There is also very little room to move throughout as it is clear these rooms were not designed for queen beds. The bathroom is connected to the open area where the second queen bed is.

The free water park and pool were located in a neighboring hotel, and the free breakfast was located down the street in a different hotel 3 flights of stairs up (no elevator close by).

I do not feel that the price we were charged reflects the room we had. If the price had been right for this age and type of room, then we may stay again.

I was hesitant to book here because of the low reviews, and now I know why and find myself writing one. Firs, the cabin was shappy...not close to the photos of the cabins on their website. Second, they quoted me a $25 dog fee over the phone for two dogs, never sent my confirmation via email, and then wanted to charge me a $50 dollar dog fee when I checked in. The person at the desk would not lower the fee, even though he turned out to be the manager and referenced a scribbled piece of paper as his proof. When I said, "What happened to the customer being right?," he said sometimes they are, but sometimes they aren't. I could go on with the story, but in the end, I would say I have never been treated so poorly. I was furious. We left, and I'll contest the VISA hold charge ( which didn't show any dog charges). We went to the Days Inn, got a better rate, paid a $15 total dog charge, got 2 free drinks, 20% off on our meal, ice for our cooler, a no-charge late check-out, and a fantastic reception desk experience! I recommend boycotting Cabins of Mackinaw.

The advertising is a bit misleading for the cabins. What they show you online is not what you get. You're expecting the 2 story cabin that looks like a little house/cabin. When you arrive, you are given keys and you drive behind the cool cabins where the small cabins are. They are very small and in not so good condition. The equivalent of being in a motel. We asked to upgrade to the nicer cabins. This is the reason why I'm giving 3 stars. It was four adults and we were quite comfortable in the larger cabin. Big living area, big tub/shower, etc. We had our own front porch with a plastic patio set. The other thing that was a shock was that breakfast, pool, wifi are at a different hotel they partner with. Do your research before booking. Don't make the mistake I made.

The experience was very nice. Staff was nice and very accommodating. The wireless internet signal is a little weak, but I brought my own DVD player to watch just in case.

The pool and hot tub are outdoors and were nice.

The "cabin" we stayed in was in need of repair. The bed had a slight incline so that your head was at the bottom of the incline. This could have been due to the bed frame or maybe the structure.

The breakfast that is included is not in the complex where your hotel is. You must walk across the street to another hotel. The line for breakfast was long as it appears multiple hotels do breakfast at this location. Some of the food was cold and it was definitely not worth a 10 minute wait in line.

The cabins looked nice, cleanliness was lacking and when they did clean, clean towels and wash cloths were not left to replace what was used. The 'free' WIFI was not working in our cabin and we lacked batteries for our remotes to the televisions.

Definitely will not return and would not recommend.

The cabin I was in was clean and accommodating. The bathroom looks up to date. No weird scents or smells. The others reviews had me Secure guessing my stay but I was pleasantly surprised. I will return.

My 79 year old mother was here with us to go to the Island. The front cabins have a step up to the sidewalk that is not lit at night and she tripped on the step and fell face first and fracturing both elbows. We reported it to the office and nothing was said about what could they could do to help nor has there been any follow up.
