One caveat: Get there early, and make sure your entire party is there; they will not seat you unless everyone in your party is there. Darrow's is a wonderful casual family restaurant with amazing food for all kinds of finicky palates and homemade pies out the wazoo. The service is wonderful and the prices are reasonable. Milkshakes are so thick you need a spoon and the fries are so good that ketchup becomes another food group. You may have a bit of a wait, but it's worth it.
Fast, friendly service. I had the perch dinner. The perch was very good, but ordered it with fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw was OK, but I didn't care for the fries. Had a piece of cherry pie for desert, excellent! Prices are reasonable for this area. Definitely would go back.
Traveling across states, this was perfect. Incredibly filling serving sizes, homemade meals and pies and bottomless coffee. Our waitress was fast, had great recommendations and did an amazing job. The food was quick to get to us. I had the Turkey dinner, which was super moidt and well done and the sides were phenomenal. Large booths, sounds like the locals love the place too. Decorations are nice and the place is clean as well. Definitely recommend hitting here on your drive.
Even has gluten free and vegetarian selections that are well done and flavorful.
Awesome comfort food. The service was very quick and the staff was all so friendly! I got the whitefish and chips special and a side salad. Everything was amazing, and our waitress Kathy was wonderful. The prices were about perfect for the portions and quality, I definitely will go back and recommend it to others!
Chili with beans and cheese is phenomenal! You can see the chunks of vegetables and it has just the right amount of spice (no milk required!) The salads are wonderful: good crisp green lettuce and spinach and a great selection of dressings. THE BEST LEMON MERINGUE I HAVE EVER HAD!!! Blueberry and strawberry syrups are made in house every morning, y'all! Good coffee and half&half. Friendly staff wearing real smiles; Carol is astounding! Very comfortable environment. Reasonably priced. I will absolutely be back.
We went back on out way home and got a hot gravy (turkey) sandwich and more soup. The sandwich was amazing and our waitress was great again!
