It was great to get up close and learn more history. I enjoy lighthouse and hope you do too.
As a historic lighthouse on the shore of Lake Michigan, It was a guiding light until it's services were no longer needed. The lighthouse was purchased by an individual and remained a residence until recent years. The public can now enjoy this treasure to the fullest. The house is in excellent condition though the original Light Room had been removed. The reproduction unit now on top of the tower is a perfect reproduction. Quality of the experience is one to be shared with generations of visitors. Rumor is the county wants to sell it off to a development firm. That would be a shame. You can't go wrong visiting if you love these Guiding lights of the past.
Loved the lighthouse and the grounds. What a great place if history. I loved the trail down to the waterfront and all the signs and information along the way. Once you got to the beach, which was hardly a 5 min walk, there was a great view of the bridge and the lake.
If you do visit the lighthouse do t miss out on taking the path down to the lake. The view of the Mackinac Bridge is beautiful.
We love to visit McGulpin Point lighthouse! The revitalization has been so well done, and continues. Relatively short climb up a spiral staircase to the tower, and a really nice short hike down to the water, where there are impressive views of the Mackinaw Bridge and the Straits.
While waiting for our room to be ready we decided to visit the lighthouse . You wre,able to go inside and climb to the top. It's very interesting and very historical.
After viewing the lighthouse we decided to take the path there to see where it would go .
